BWY Yoga Foundation Course 1 : Next course: October ’25 to March ’26

 A collaboration of two highly-experienced and renowned BWY tutors 

 

60 hours tuition over six months

 

This British Wheel of Yoga course is designed to explore yoga in more depth. It is ideal for students who would like to deepen and develop their knowledge of yoga, create friends within the yoga community, as well as for those wanting to train as teachers.  The course will be hosted at Studio Yoga in Stockbridge and co-run with fellow BWY FC tutor and studio owner Tamsin Kelly. 

The syllabus includes practical and theoretical work on the eight limbs of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras; asana, pranayama, concentration and meditation, and on the history and different paths of yoga Students will be expected to practise regularly throughout the course and encouraged to reflect upon and make notes on their practice in journal form. Other than this there is no home written work and the course is not formally assessed. There are a small number of set texts which students will be encouraged to purchase, and course notes will be provided.The course will run for one Sunday month over ten months from October to July (contact us for exact dates). There will also be an introductory evening before the start of the course on Friday 12th September 6-7:30pm at Studio Yoga. This gives us all a chance to meet before the course starts, and for you to ask us any questions you may have.

  • Minimum of two years’ yoga experience.

 2025-26 Fees: £695 (plus BWY registration fee of £60)

Your tutors have been teaching yoga in Hampshire since 2003 (Lorna) and 2008 (Tamsin) and have accrued a wealth of yoga experience between them. The organisation, the BWY,  is recognised by Sport England and is the UK’s foremost yoga training organisation and our most established yoga community.
