Testimonials from yoga students in Winchester

Zoom 1-2-1s

“Lorna is a brilliant, caring and genuine yoga instructor. I have been having 1-to-1 yoga lessons with her, and she’s the best yoga teacher I have ever come across. I find the sessions incredibly relaxing for both my mind and body – and I feel like Lorna really cares about giving me the best tailored experience. I have intermittent lower back pain, and she adjusts each session to my needs – she has a great deal of knowledge, and yoga has been really helping build my fitness and wellbeing. I can’t recommend her enough!” Frances, February 2022

General Classes

“Lorna and her classes are very friendly and relaxed and suitable for all levels, this makes them especially good for those that are busy and only able to attend infrequently. If only time allowed for more sessions!” Nick (general class)

“A good strong hatha yoga class with a gentle teaching style. I have recently picked up a few injuries and Lorna has been very attentive in adapting the postures to work with my injuries. I feel you always get the personal touch from Lorna.” Katy (intermediate class)
“Lorna really takes care of everyone in her classes so you feel you’re getting personal attention whatever level you’re at.” Liz  (general class)

“I really enjoy Lorna’s classes and try to go twice a week. She is very good at spotting different levels and adapting the posture to make it easier or more challenging.” Nikki. (general & intermediate classes)

“My husband and I have been attending Lorna’s classes for over 4 years and thoroughly recommend her classes. She blends dynamic yoga flow, breathing techniques, and chanting with detailed knowledge of anatomy to ensure the classes are suited to each participant’s level of fitness. On top of this Lorna is friendly and warm and a pleasure to learn yoga with.” Kath (intermediate class)

“Luna Yoga & Health class is far more than an exercise, it is a club of like-minded people, a learning experience, and an education…highly recommended.” Olga (intermediate class)

“We are both into running and cycling, but were getting stiffer by the month. That’s when Lorna started coming fortnightly to our flat. Having done very little yoga before, Lorna is teaching us from scratch, and tailoring our lessons to meet what we enjoy most – sequences, stretches, and relaxation. Lorna draws diagrams of our workouts so we can do them in between our lessons. Lorna is enthusiastic and fun and we really enjoy our hour with her; learning a new skill, getting stronger, and more flexible. I would recommend Lorna to anyone.” Bonnie (private lessons)

‘Lorna’s classes are extremely enjoyable; with her warm and friendly nature she makes
everyone feel at ease and adapts each class to suit all levels of ability.’ Steph

Yoga Holidays

“Hi Lorna, what can I say? Thank you for being such a kind, thoughtful, thorough teacher, I found the week really helpful and I hope it has helped my practice. The venue, the food, and the company were all lovely too.” Liz, Spain June 2019

“We had a wonderful week. The yoga was great, just the right level for us all with lots of options for different levels. Lorna is a fantastic teacher and also great fun. The mornings were more dynamic and in the evenings we had a relaxing practice. Each day was different and Lorna had put a lot of thought into each class. The yoga equipment is very good and clean too. The venue was perfect. Rooms were clean and simple. The rooftop terrace and shower were amazing. Fabulous views over the bay as you shower! Food was delicious and plentiful, magical sitting outside under the kiwi vines. San Angelo is a lovely little place with lots of great ice cream! We found a brilliant snorkelling spot from the big rock in San Angelo. It was just like being in an aquarium. It would be a good idea to suggest people bring shoes for getting in and out of the water on the rocks if they enjoy swimming and snorkelling. We also had a great walk up the mountain and a beautiful boat trip around the island, swimming from the boat, arranged by Michele. A couple of people did stand up paddle boarding which was fun. Sorgetto beach with the hot springs made a great day out too. We all got on so well and were very sad to leave all our new friends. I feel rejuvenated and relaxed after the week. Thanks for a great holiday! We will be back!” Catherine Ischia, Italy, 2018

“Returned last weekend from a fabulous week at Casa Benedetto in Ischia. I confess I have had serious post holiday blues since then. Ischia is so so beautiful and there is more to do and see there than we could fit into one week. The venue is simple and perfectly lovely – rooms are basic but comfortable and clean, and the hosts are friendly and keen to help with anything they can. Food was fresh, local (often Home grown by the hosts) and absolutely delicious.  All in all you do feel like you are experiencing proper Italy.  Lorna Chapman is a lovely, patient and brilliant yoga teacher who adapted the classes to be suitable for all levels at once. She is so encouraging and supportive (literally supportive when helping me do my first ever headstand!).  The whole group were lovely and all bonded and got on brilliantly and we’ve come away sun kissed and relaxed with new friends, a love of Ischia and a desire to go back.  Thank you.” Annabel, Ischia, Italy, 2018

“We are back from a wonderful yoga holiday at Casa Benedetta with Lorna Chapman. The venue was lovely and the food was home cooked and delicious. Michaela and his family were so friendly and helpful. Lorna was a skillful and inspiring teacher and we loved her yoga. Thank you for facilitating an amazing and unforgettable experience! We have come home sunkissed and relaxed with new friends and wonderful memories.” Lucy, Ischia, Italy 2018

“Thank you Lorna for teaching us such beautiful yoga.. you’ve inspired me to practice this daily. Will miss your classes twice a day, it will be a shock coming back home and to be out of the routine!” Taruna, Crete 2017

“I came back from the source of light yoga holiday on Saturday and had a wonderful time. The villa is very cute and the calm and quiet environment is so relaxing. Richard and Betty were lovely. Being a veggie I really enjoyed Richards food and had a few treatments while I was there which were gorgeous!  Our yoga teacher – Lorna was fantastic. She has obviously been doing and teaching yoga for a number of years and it showed. She was great at offering alternative postures if you were unable to do anything as well as offering more advanced positions for more experienced members of the class! She has a lovely way of teaching and made my first yoga holiday very enjoyable. I definitely hope to do more in the future. Many thanks.” Rhian, Spain 2016

“We just wanted to say thank you so much for the lovely holiday we had at the Sultan Palas Hotel in Dalyan recently. It really is a special place; the rooms very clean and comfortable, the beautiful pool and gardens, the friendly, helpful and discreet staff and the fresh food including wonderful mezes. As friends of Lorna’s we knew the yoga would be brilliant and it was so lovely do do it in such tranquil surroundings.” Debbie and Lynn, Turkey, Sultan Palas 2015

“Thank you for the photos and for the lovely time at Kissamos. Already looking forward to a new yoga retreat week with you.”
Love and light, Sigga, Crete 2016
